In the begining...
With the new millennium rearing itÕs ugly head filled with nothing but promises of the Ôsame-old, same-oldÕ regurgitated into a slicker packaging with 10% less fat and all the candy-coating it can get away with it has become apparent that the carbon-copied dominoes of queer conformity have begun their fall and are building momentum to the epicenter of queer demiseÉ.complacency.

Luckily, every action has an equal and opposite reactionÉin Vancouver, BC Canada a new kind of identity has emerged Ð one that sees through the wolves in rainbow clothing, one that dares to question the ÔNormÕ and the ÒAlternative LifestyleÓ that conveniently follows along. Collectively these revolutionaries live amongst but away from the rest Ð through networks of communication on various technical levels referred to as the ÔQP CollectiveÕ, this new generation called ÔQueer PunksÕ have given voice to a new breed of queers, indesernable from the rest of society but beautifully dangerous.

From the fertile ground of the QP Collective has grown a band that provides some of the soundtrack to this budding community. Combining efforts from past band experiences (Sparkmarker, Queazy) Lee, Mason and Mitch joined forces to rock a new hole into the worlds of ÔPunkÕ and ÔQueerÕ. Seeing the parallel of identity struggle with the Nexus-6 generation in the off-world colony of Blade Runner the Skinjobs pulled their name from the derogatory name for ÔReplicantsÕ. It was then that guitars were strummed and drums were hit with the screams of rebellion and fun Ð this was the spring of 2000. It was only too apparent that the gospel of the the Skinjobs needed to be spread Ð so a date was set, November 21st 2000 Ð a night referred to as The Edge Of Human. With bursts of sound and flashes of light the Skinjobs took the stage and the world experienced a taste-test of the future of things to come.

At this show, so caught-up in the vitality and power of the experience many took the stage and shook their bodies in dances of revelation, the likes of which had never been seen, and it was from this moment that the Skinjobs ÔGO-GO DancersÕ were born and graced the stage ever since Ð celebrating a new beginning, celebrating the end. It became apparent for everyone at this show that if you had a voice, an opinion or an idea that the place was RIGHT HERE and the time was RIGHT NOW.

Quickly word spread Ð many were recruited, words were documented and made available for the masses (The Replicant). These documents were regarded as dangerousÉ words as weapons. Around the world like-minded individuals read the refreshing new gospel and quickly volunteered to help spread the word, ridding the world of all things false.

The Skinjobs saw the need for further world-wide enlightenment Ð knowing that the power of the Skinjobs was in musical form it became obvious that the music must also be documented. Enlisting Queer Punk ally Blair Calibaba Ð 3 tracks were recorded Aug 2001. With the assistance of Angela at Agitprop Records the anthemic ÒBurn Your RainbowÓ was released alongside an army of queer punk bands on a CD entitled ÒStand Up and Fucken Fight For ItÓ (Dec. 2001). This was like fuel on the fire Ð the world was ablaze and awaken, a cause had been re-ignited and re-born.

With a hand-full of shows under their belt and a battalion of followers, the Skinjobs returned to the studio to finish where they had left off. Upon hearing the rough mixes three daring labels (Agitprop, Spitshine and Bongo Beat ) offered to join forces (in the spirit of Skinjobs community efforts) and help with the release of this soon-to-be-classic recording. The resulting ÒBurn Your RainbowÓ CD hits the world Jan. 2003 chalk-full of queer rockÕnÕroll and accented with queerlicious words of QP friends.

It has been written that those who have the youth hold the future Ð and as such, the kids will have their say. Shut up and listen!
